Dr. Machesky is pursuing
board certification by the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. She is a Family
Practice doctor working at our Schoenherr office. She is board certified in
Family Practice. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Machesky is on staff at St John Hospital and Medical Center. She graduated from Wayne State University and completed a
residency at Bon Secours Hospital in 1998. Prior to coming to Cornerstone Dr.
Machesky worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer.
Philosophy:
We treat every patient as
though they are family. We will make every effort to treat your needs within one
day. We are open all day Monday through Friday and Saturday morning. Dr.
Machesky starts many of her days at 7:30 a.m. for patient convenience.

University of Rome, Italy and completed his residency at St. Joseph Mercy
Oakland Hospital. He is also a member of the American Medical Association.

James J. Maciejko, M.S., Ph.D., F.A.C.C.
received graduate degrees from Michigan State University College of Human
Medicine. He completed a fellowship in lipidology at the Mayo Clinic
(1983). He became Director of the Preventive Cardiology Program at St. John
Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit and Director of the system’s Lipid
Laboratory, which is certified by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute
and the Centers for Disease Control Lipid Standardization Program. He is
an active clinical researcher and educator on lipoprotein metabolism and the
prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. He has published
more than 70 original scholarly papers in leading medical journals and is the
author of two books, The ABC’s of Coronary Heart Disease (2001) and
Atherosclerosis Risk Factors (2004).

echocardiography. Dr. Cohen graduated from
McGill University and trained at McGill affiliated
hospitals and the Ottawa Heart Institute. Before
joining St. John Hospital, he worked at Detroit
Medical Center and the Cleveland Clinic.
